Removal Procedure

  1. Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Replacement (Encore)Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Replacement (Trax) - Remove
  2. Turn Signal Switch Replacement (Encore)Turn Signal Switch Replacement (Trax) - Remove
  3. Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement (Encore)Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement (Trax) - Remove
  4. Theft Deterrent Module Replacement (Encore)Theft Deterrent Module Replacement (Trax) - Remove
  5. Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (Encore) Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (Trax)  - Remove
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    The ignition and start switch housing bolt can be removed with a pair of Vise-Grip™ locking pliers or equivalent.

  8. Ignition and Start Switch Housing Bolt - Remove

    DISCARD the bolt.

  9. Ignition and Start Switch Housing Strap - Remove

  11. Release the turn signal switch bracket retaining tab (1).
  12. Remove the ignition and start switch housing (2) along with any attached components from the steering column.
  13. Transfer components as necessary.
