Installation Procedure

  1. Install the oil pressure indicator switch NEW seal ring.
  2. Install oil pressure indicator switch to engine oil cooler and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Clean the sealing surfaces.
  4. Engine Oil Cooler Seal (2, 3) » Install NEW
  5. Engine Oil Cooler (1) » Install
  6. Lower vehicle.

  7. Install the 2 oil cooler bolts (1) and hand tighten.
  8. Electrical Connector to Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Switch » Connect

  9. Engine Oil Cooler Inlet Pipe Gasket (3) Install NEW
  10. Engine Oil Cooler Inlet Pipe (2) » Connect
  11. Engine Oil Cooler Inlet Hose to Water Outlet » Connect
  12. Engine Oil Cooler Inlet Hose Clamp (1) » Tighten
  13. Engine Oil Cooler Bolt (5) » Install
  14. Install the engine oil cooler inlet pipe bolt (4) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  15. Engine Oil Cooler Bolt (5) » Install and tighten [3x] 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
  16. Raise vehicle.

  17. Install the oil cooler outlet pipe (2) in compound with the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.
  18. Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Pipe Bolt (1) » Install and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  19. Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Hose (3) to Thermostat Housing (1) » Connect
  20. Install the oil cooler outlet hose clamp (2).
  21. Turbocharger - Install. Refer to TURBOCHARGER REPLACEMENT
  22. Install warm up three way catalytic converter. Refer to Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  23. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  24. Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe and the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement .
  25. Connect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  26. Fill engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill)  and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
