Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Place a collecting basin underneath.
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill)  and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  4. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  5. Loosen the engine coolant air bleed hose clamp (2).

  6. Remove the engine coolant air bleed hose (1) from the surge tank (3).
  7. Unclip the engine coolant air bleed hose (1) from the charge air cooler outlet air hose (4).
  8. Loosen the clamp (2).

  9. Remove the engine coolant air bleed hose (1) from the thermostat housing (3).
