Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

    NOTE:

    The camshaft must be in the base circle position before the high pressure fuel pump is installed.

  1. Use the EN-50790 alignment gauge to ensure that the camshaft lobe is in the base circle position. At base circle position, the tool will be flush with the head.
  2. Lubricate the fuel pump cylinder head bore with clean, silicone-free 5W30 engine oil.

1 Fuel Pump Valve Lifter Follower
NOTE:

Ensure that the fuel pump valve lifter is oriented properly, and the camshaft is at base circle.

NOTE:

Lubricate the fuel pump valve lifter with 5W30 engine oil and install into the cylinder head bore.


Tighten 
10 (89 lb in)
2 Fuel Pump Housing O-Ring
3 Fuel Pump Housing Gasket
4 Fuel Pump Assembly
5 Fuel Pump Assembly Bolts (Qty: 2)
NOTE:

Hand start the fuel pump assembly bolts evenly. Tighten the fuel pump bolts evenly.


Tighten 
15 (11 lb ft)
6 Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe

Procedure

  1. Hand start both ends of the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe.
  2. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail to 15 (11 lb ft).
  3. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump to 15 (11 lb ft).
  4. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail a final pass to 30 (22 lb ft).
  5. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump a final pass to 30 (22 lb ft).
7 Fuel Pump Insulator
8 Fuel Pump Cover
9 Fuel Pump Cover bolts (Qty: 3)
Tighten 
10 (89 lb in)
