Preliminary Procedures

  1. Clean the fuel injector bore in the cylinder head using the EN-47909  kit.
  2. Replace the fuel rail insulators, if necessary. Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection .
  3. Replace the fuel rail bolts, if necessary.

1 Fuel Rail Assembly
NOTE:

Install the fuel rail with injectors into the cylinder head evenly.
2 Fuel Rail Assembly Bolt (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

Mount the bolts evenly to avoid cocking of the fuel injectors during installation.

Procedure

  1. Hand start the two outer fuel rail bolts to seat the injectors into the injector bores.
  2. Hand start the remaining fuel rail bolts.
  3. Tighten the fuel rail bolts in sequence to 25 (18 lb ft) .
  4. Connect the electrical harness to the fuel rail harness connections.
