Oil Pan Installation

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces.
  2. Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant to the joints (arrows). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

    NOTE: The assembly time, including torque check, must take no longer than 10 minutes.
  4. Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

  6. Install the oil pan (2).
  7. Install the 15 oil pan bolts (1).
  8. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution
  9. Tighten the oil pan bolts on the cylinder block to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
