Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Clean sealing surface.
    2. Fig 1: Engine Front Cover, Seal And Bolts

  2. Install a NEW engine front cover seal (1).
  3. Install the engine front cover (4).
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 8 engine front cover bolts (2, 3) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Push the engine oil cooler outlet pipe (3) to the water pump (6).
  6. Install the engine oil cooler outlet pipe bolts (5) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
  7. Push the engine oil cooler inlet pipe (1) into the water pump (6).
  8. Install the engine oil cooler inlet pipe bolt (4) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
  9. Install the radiator outlet hose to the water pump. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LUW) , Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LUJ) .
  10. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  11. Install the timing belt rear cover. Refer to Timing Belt Rear Cover Replacement .
  12. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LUJ) , Generator Replacement (LUW) .
  13. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LUJ) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LUW) .
  14. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement (LUW) .
  15. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  16. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  17. Close the hood.
