Ignition Lock Cylinder Control Solenoid Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
1 Ignition Lock Cylinder Solenoid Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  2 N.m (18 lb in)

2 Ignition Lock Cylinder Solenoid
Procedure: 
Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
Tip:  A new ignition lock cylinder solenoid consists of only the solenoid and spring. Do not attempt to remove any roll pins retaining the plunger mechanism. If the plunger mechanism exhibits any signs of damage or wear then replacement of the ignition lock cylinder case will be necessary.
