Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: 
Remove the turn signal switch bracket. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Bracket Replacement .
1 Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Bolt
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Use a hammer and chisel to bite into the shear bolt at a position offset from center and tap the chisel to rotate the bolt in order to remove it.
  2. Torque the new ignition lock cylinder case bolt until the head shears off.
2 Ignition Lock Cylinder Case

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
  2. The ignition lock cylinder must be in the RUN position to remove the ignition lock cylinder case.
  3. If the ignition lock cylinder is stuck in the OFF position with the lock bolt engaged then proceed to cut off the lock cylinder housing collar at the points shown in the graphic.
  4. Transfer any parts as needed.
