Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the wheel driveshaft or intermediate drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement or Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Replacement .

  5. Use the J 23907  or J 44809  in order to remove the seal. See Special Tools .
  6. Inspect the seal bore for nicks or for burrs. Clean the bore with a fine grade sandpaper, if necessary.
