Removal Procedure

  1. With the ignition OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the brake booster vacuum reserve.

  3. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  4. Release the vacuum hose routing clip (1) from the intake manifold ball stud.

  6. Disconnect the power vacuum brake booster hose (1) from the intake manifold vacuum port.
  7. Release the quick connect (2) from the power brake booster auxiliary pump.
  8. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

  10. Remove the power brake booster vacuum check valve and hose assembly with vacuum sensor assembly (1) from the power brake booster.
  11. Remove the vacuum brake booster hose assembly from the vehicle.
