Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the TFT sensor.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal A and ground.
- If greater than 5 Ω, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
- Ignition ON, using a scan tool verify that the TFT sensor parameter is at -40°C (-40°F).
- If greater than -40°C (-40°F), test the signal circuit terminal B for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal B and the low reference circuit terminal A. Verify the TFT sensor parameter is greater than 128°C (262°F).
- If less than 128°C (262°F), test the signal circuit of the TFT sensor for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the ECM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the TFT sensor.
NOTE:
If the signal circuit of the TFT sensor is shorted to voltage the TFT sensor may be damaged.
