Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Description and Operation

The temperature sensor is a safety feature that triggers a warning light within the dashboard's instrument panel in the event the manual transmission is operating in temperatures above 163°C (325°F). This feature is provided to preserve oil viscosity.
