Preliminary Procedure Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection . Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the starter heat shield. Refer to Starter Shield Replacement (LLT) or Starter Shield Replacement (LS3/L99) .
1	Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 13 N.m (115 lb in)
2	Bolt (Qty: 2) Tighten: 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
3	Starter Procedure: Disconnect the engine harness starter connector.
