Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the transfer case from the adapter. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement .
    3. Fig 1: Removing Input Shaft Seal Using J 23907 & J 36825

  3. Using the J 36825  (2) and J 23907  (1) remove the input shaft seal. See Special Tools .
    1. Poke a hole in the seal using a very small punch.
    2. Thread the tool J 36825  (2) into the hole. See Special Tools .
