Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to DRIVE BELT TENSIONER REPLACEMENT - SUPERCHARGER .
  3. Remove the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Bracket Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor studs.
  6. Remove the CMP sensor.
