NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) trim plates. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Right . Refer to Driver Information Center Switch Replacement . Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Left . Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover Replacement . Remove the I/P cluster bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster . Tip: Squeeze the upper and lower tabs of the hazard warning switch together. Remove the hazard warning switch from the I/P top panel. Remove the passenger inflatable restraint module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR. Remove the I/P upper trim pad air grille assembly. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
1	Screw, Instrument Panel Trim Pad (Qty: 12) Tighten: 2.2 N.m (19 lb in)
2	Pad Assembly, Instrument Panel Trim Tip: Lift up to release the I/P top panel from the I/P retainer.

Preliminary Procedures

Disable the SIR system.
Remove the instrument panel (I/P) trim plates.
- Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Right .
- Refer to Driver Information Center Switch Replacement .
- Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Left .
- Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
Remove the I/P cluster bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster .
Tip:

Squeeze the upper and lower tabs of the hazard warning switch together. Remove the hazard warning switch from the I/P top panel.
Remove the passenger inflatable restraint module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
Remove the I/P upper trim pad air grille assembly. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .

Screw, Instrument Panel Trim Pad (Qty: 12)

Tighten: 2.2 N.m (19 lb in)

Pad Assembly, Instrument Panel Trim
Tip: Lift up to release the I/P top panel from the I/P retainer.
