Disc Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Install a new piston seal into the caliper bore.
  2. Install a new piston boot onto the piston.
  3. Install the piston into the caliper.
  4. Fit the piston boot onto the caliper groove.
  5. Do not pull the piston out of the cylinder. Pull on the piston in order to confirm that the boot is properly fitted in the caliper groove.
  6. Push the piston into the caliper. Seat the piston in the caliper bore.
    7. NOTE: Tighten the bleeder valve while bleeding the hydraulic brake system.
  7. Install the bleeder valve. DO NOT tighten.
  8. Install the caliper on the vehicle. See DISC BRAKE CALIPERS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Bleed the brake system. See MANUAL BLEEDING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
