Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install a new O-ring seal. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the evaporator tube to the condenser.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the evaporator tube to 28 N.m (21 Ib. ft).

  3. Install the lower radiator hose.

  4. Install a new O-ring seal. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  5. Install the evaporator tube to the evaporator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the evaporator tube to 28 N.m (21 Ib. ft).

  6. Install the evaporator tube clip to the accumulator.
  7. Install the evaporator tube retaining screw.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib. in).

  8. Install the battery. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
  9. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  10. Leak test the fittings components using the J 39400-A.
