Installation Procedure

Important: If replacing the condenser, add the refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES for system capacity information.

Install the condenser to the vehicle.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the upper insulator retainers and the insulator retainer bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib. in).

Install the evaporator tube to the condenser. Refer to EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (2.2L) or EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (4.3L) .
Install the compressor hose assembly to the condenser.
Tighten the compressor hose nut.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 Ib. ft).
Install the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (2.2L) or RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (4.3L) in Engine Cooling.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A .
