Installation Procedure

Important: If replacing the condenser, add the refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES for system capacity information.
- Install the condenser to the vehicle.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the upper insulator retainers and the insulator retainer bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib. in).
- Install the evaporator tube to the condenser. Refer to EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (2.2L) or EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (4.3L) .
- Install the compressor hose assembly to the condenser.
- Tighten the compressor hose nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 Ib. ft).
- Install the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (2.2L) or RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (4.3L) in Engine Cooling.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
- Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A .
