Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air temperature door (1) to the lower module half.
  2. Install the mode actuator.
  3. Install the actuator rod to the mode actuator.
  4. Install the mode actuator retaining clip.
  5. Connect the vacuum harness to the mode actuator.
  6. Install the air temperature actuator to the module. Ensure the actuator is seated on the locating tab.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the air temperature actuator screws.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib. in).

  8. Connect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
  9. Install the screws in order to seal the heater/vent module halves.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 4.5 N.m (40 Ib. in).

  10. Install the heater/vent module. Refer to HEATER/VENT MODULE REPLACEMENT .

  11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
