Installation Procedure

Important: If replacing the accumulator, add the refrigerant oil to the accumulator. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES for system capacity information.
- Install the accumulator into the accumulator clamp.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the accumulator clamp bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 Ib. in).
- Install the A/C low pressure switch.
- Install new O-ring seals. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT .
- Connect the compressor hose assembly to the accumulator (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 48 N.m (35 Ib. ft).
- Install the accumulator to evaporator retaining nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 Ib. ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the A/C pressure switch (4.3L only).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
- Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
