Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  Install the lifters to the same location from which they were removed.

  1. Install the lifters and the lifter guide. Refer to VALVE LIFTER INSTALLATION  in the Engine Unit Repair Manual.
  2. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM AND PUSH ROD REPLACEMENT  .
  3. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - LOWER 
  4. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - UPPER  .
  5. Install the engine right side valve rocker arm cover. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT  .
  6. Install the engine left side valve rocker arm cover. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT  .
