Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important: 

  1. Install the oil pan gasket and the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN INSTALLATION  .
  2. Install the transaxle brace.
  3. Install the engine mount with the engine mount bracket to the oil pan. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT BRACKET REPLACEMENT (FWD)  or ENGINE MOUNT BRACKET REPLACEMENT (AWD)  .

  4. Install the J 45057-2  lower support bar.
  5. Remove the utility strap.
  6. If the vehicle is equipped with All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), install the transfer case brace.
  7. Install the starter motor.

  8. Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector.
  9. Install the frame.
  10. Connect the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
  11. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE  .
  14. Install the right engine mount strut to the engine. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT  .
  15. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT  .
  16. Connect the battery negative cable.
