Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the horn switch (2) to the steering wheel (3).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Connect the captured screws (1,4) from the horn contact plate (2) to the steering wheel (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 5.5 N.m (50 lb in).

  3. Install the horn plunger to the steering column.
  4. Install the inflator module. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (DRIVER-SIDE) in SIR.
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ZONE 3 in SIR.
