Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

  1. Install the carpet to the vehicle.
  2. Install the third pillar trim. Refer to Trim Replacement - Third Pillar (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade/Suburban)  or Trim Replacement - Third Pillar (Avalanche/Escalade EXT)  .
  3. Raise the midgate.
  4. Install the garnish molding center pillar trim. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar  .
  5. Install the hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar  .
  6. Install the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front  and to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear  .
  7. Install the lower bracket from the I/P to the floor.
  8. Install the floor center console, if equipped. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (BASE CONSOLE) or CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (LUXURY CONSOLE) .
  9. Install the front center seats, if equipped. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - CENTER .
  10. Install the rear seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
  11. Install the front seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET .
