1 Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check-Engine Cooling? Go to Step 2  Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - Engine Cooling 
2 Start the engine.
Does the CHECK COOLANT TEMP indicator illuminate?
Go to Step 3  Go to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS
3 With a scan tool select instrument panel cluster, and command the CHECK COOLANT TEMP indicator ON and OFF.
Does the CHECK COOLANT TEMP indicator turn ON and OFF when commanded?
Go to Engine Overheating  Go to Step 4 
4 Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT .
Is the replacement complete?
Go to Step 5  -
5 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
