Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

    NOTE: Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.
  3. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Use a screwdriver to assist in the removal of the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column jacket assembly.
