Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Standard Column)

WARNING:
This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
- Air bag deployment
- Personal injury
- Unnecessary SIR system repairs
- Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
- If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM .
- Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM .
- Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle .
- Remove the turn signal cancel cam, bearing thrust washer. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam And Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
- Remove the ignition and key alarm switch assembly only. Refer to Ignition And Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
- Remove the park lock cable assembly (1) from the electronic lock module assembly.
- Place the lock cylinder in the OFF-LOCK position.
- Place the shift lever clevis into the PARK position.
- Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the electronic lock module assembly. Push against the locking tab on the end of the park lock cable assembly (1).
- Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1) from the electronic lock module assembly.
- Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws (2) from the electronic lock module assembly (1).
- Remove the electronic lock module assembly (1) from the steering column housing assembly.
