Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel passenger side knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Right .
  2. Remove the passenger supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR). Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (PASSENGER-SIDE) .
  3. Remove the bolts that retain the inflatable restraint filler panel to the instrument panel, if not equipped with passenger SIR.
  4. Remove the inflatable restraint filler panel from the instrument panel.
  5. Press the release buttons on the instrument panel assist handle retainers (2).

    Pull the assist handle (1) from the instrument panel.

  6. Remove the assist handle from the vehicle.
