Rear Brake Shoes: Installation

- Connect the park brake lever to the brake shoe and install the retaining clip.
- Position the hook end of the brake shoe spanner under the universal spring and lightly pull the universal spring end out while installing the brake shoe. Ensure that the universal spring properly engages the brake shoe web hole.
- Position the hook end of under the brake shoe spanner universal spring and lightly pull the universal spring end out while installing the brake shoe. Ensure that the universal spring engages the brake shoe web hole.
- Use the brake shoe spanner spread the top of the brake shoes to install the adjuster assembly and the adjuster lever to the brake shoe.
- Install the adjuster spring. Adjust the drum brake system. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS. Install the brake drum. See REAR BRAKE DRUM .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Lower the vehicle.
