Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the park brake cable at points and to the park brake pedal. Connect the electrical connection to the pedal assembly.
  2. Install the park brake pedal assembly. Tighten the park brake pedal assembly nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the left closeout/insulator panel. Install the PCM and bracket. Position the left carpet. Install the left carpet retainer.
  4. Parking brake adjustment is not necessary. This is a self adjusting system and damage may result from attempting to adjust or modify this system in any way. It may be necessary to adjust the rear brakes to obtain the proper tension in the system. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
