Installation (Left Rear)

  1. Connect the cable to the backing plate. Connect the cable to the park brake lever.
  2. Install the brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  . Install the brake drums. See REAR BRAKE DRUM  . Parking brake adjustment is not necessary. This is a self adjusting system and damage may result from attempting to adjust or modify this system in any way. It may be necessary to adjust the rear brakes to obtain the proper tension in the system. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Connect the cables to the bracket. Connect the cable to the equalizer. Lower the vehicle.
