Park Brake Drum: Installation

  1. Install the park brake drum.
  2. Install the park brake drum to transmission yoke bolts. See Figure . Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove the tape from the bearing cups on the universal joint.
  4. Align the front propeller shaft to the reference marks on the transmission yoke.
  5. Install the front propeller shaft to the transmission yoke.
  6. Install the universal joint retainers and the bolts to the transmission yoke. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Align the center bearing to the reference marks on the crossmember. See Figure .
  8. Install the bolts, washers, and nuts to the center bearing. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Adjust the park brake cable. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
