Used Switch

- Place selector shaft in "N" (Neutral) position by using a wrench on selector shaft flats. Rotate shaft to its fullest clockwise position, then rotate selector shaft counterclockwise by 2 detents. See Figure.
- Align flats on hub of NSBU switch with flats of selector shaft. While maintaining correct NSBU switch-to-selector shaft alignment, install switch onto selector shaft. Install and tighten retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position NSBU Switch Adjuster (J-41364-A) or equivalent, over selector shaft so 2 tabs on tool engage 2 slots on NSBU switch near selector shaft. See Fig 1.
- Rotate switch and adjusting tool until single tab at other end of tool engages in slot at top of NSBU switch. While holding tool in place on switch, tighten switch retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove switch adjusting tool.
- Align selector lever with selector shaft. If lever is punched, punched side should face main case. Install lever onto selector shaft until fully seated on shaft shoulder.
- Hand install selector shaft nut onto shaft. Hold lever in place and tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
