Input, Turbine & Output Speed Sensor Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2002 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: During reassembly, use oil-soluble grease with a low melting point (petrolatum or equivalent) to temporarily retain parts, butt seal rings, scarf-cut seal rings and hook-type seal rings.

Install NEW "O" ring onto speed sensor. Apply petrolatum to "O" ring and install sensor. Install speed sensor into converter housing, turbine speed sensor into main housing and output speed sensor (2WD only) into rear cover. See Figure. Install sensor retaining bolt and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
