Control Valve (Valve Body) Assembly

CAUTION: Use care when removing or installing the control valve assembly so the main selector valve is not dropped. This valve can be easily damaged.
  1. Remove 2 detent spring bolts and detent spring assembly. See Fig 1. Remove 15 control valve assembly retaining bolts (1). See Fig 2. Install a lint-free cloth (1) into park pawl apply assembly guide hole in main housing (2) to prevent selector valve pin from falling into transmission. See Fig 3.
  2. Place a finger over end of manual selector valve hole and lift control valve assembly until 2 dowel pins of control valve assembly are disengaged from main housing. See Fig 4.
  3. Slide control valve assembly to side and disengage selector valve pin from detent lever. Remove control valve assembly from main housing. Remove manual selector valve and selector valve pin together from shift valve body. Remove selector valve pin from manual selector valve. See Fig 4. Remove cloth from park pawl apply assembly guide hole in main housing.
