Main Housing Dowel Pin Replacement

CAUTION: If dowel pin is damaged, it should be replaced; otherwise, dowel pin should not be removed. DO NOT mar main housing surface around dowel pin. An unmarred surface is required to maintain seal between rear cover assembly and main housing. Use only gentle tapping on tool indicated.
  1. Remove dowel pin from rear surface of main housing. Install a NEW dowel pin using a Dowel Pin Installer (J-43780) or equivalent.
  2. Drive dowel pin in until it is seated. It should be at an installed height of .819-.835" (20.8-21.2 mm) above main housing rear surface.
