Ground Sleeve Bushing Replacement

NOTE:
Manufacturer recommends use of this specific tool set (J-44529), to avoid damage to ground sleeve sealing surface.
- Position front support so it is supported by wooden blocks and ground sleeve is facing upward. Assemble Bushing Remover Spindle (J-44529-2) or equivalent, into Collet (J-44529-1) or equivalent. Install this tool assembly into bushing. See Fig 1.
- Install washer and nut onto tool spindle. While holding top of spindle with a wrench, tighten nut until Collet engages bushing. Install Removal Sleeve (J-44529-3) or equivalent, over spindle. Install bearing, washer and nut on top of sleeve. See Fig 1.
- While holding top of spindle with a wrench, tighten top nut until bushing is dislodged. Remove bushing removal tool set from ground sleeve. Remove bushing from tool set.
- If NEW bushing is to be installed by hand, install large end of Ground Sleeve Bushing Installer (J-43774) or equivalent, onto Universal Driver (J-8092) or equivalent. Install NEW bushing onto bushing installer tool.
- Drive bushing into the ground sleeve until bushing is seated flush to .010" (.25 mm) below ground sleeve surface. See Fig 2.
