  2. Align spring compressor and adapter with threaded rod of compressor facing downward. Install compressor tool assembly onto front support and retain with 2 bolts. See Fig 2.
  3. Align slot of spring compressor adapter with retainer pin. Compress main regulator valve spring until retainer pin is loose. Using a pick, push pin through the front support. Remove spring compressor tool assembly. See Fig 2.
  4. Remove the stop, spring and main regulator valve from bore in the side of front support assembly. See Fig 3 and Fig 5 . Using a Valve Spring Compressor (J-43773) or equivalent, compress clutch backfill valve spring until retaining clip is loose and can be removed from slot on top of front support. Remove spring and clutch backfill valve. See Fig 3 and Fig 5 .
  5. Align slot of Spring Compressor Adapter (J-24459-2) or equivalent, with retainer pin at the bore shown on left side of front support assembly. See Fig 4 and Fig 5 . Use spring compressor adapter tool to compress lube regulator valve spring until retainer pin can be removed.
  6. Remove the stop, spring, and lube regulator valve. Remove the "O" ring from the stop. Using valve spring compressor, compress converter relief valve until retaining clip can be removed. Remove spring and converter relief valve.
  7. Working on opposite side of front support assembly, install Spring Compressor Adapter (J-24459-5) or equivalent, onto Main/Lube/Converter Relief Valve Spring Compressor (J-43770) or equivalent. See Fig 1. Ensure front support assembly is on workbench with rear of assembly facing downward.
  8. Align spring compressor and adapter with threaded rod of the compressor facing downward. Install compressor tool assembly onto front support and retain with 2 bolts. See Fig 2.
  9. Align slot of spring compressor adapter with retainer pin. Compress converter flow valve spring until retainer pin is loose. Using a pick, push pin through front support. Remove spring compressor tool assembly. See Fig 2.
