Engine Lift Brackets: Installation

  1. Install the engine lift bracket to the engine block. Install the engine lift bracket bolts to the cylinder head and tighten the bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the power steering pump to the engine lift bracket. Tighten all fasteners to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the thermostat housing crossover to the cylinder heads. See THERMOSTAT HOUSING CROSSOVER . Install the A/C compressor to the engine lift bracket. Install the idler pulley assembly to the engine lift bracket. See DRIVE BELT IDLER PULLEY . Install the auxiliary generator (if equipped) to the engine lift bracket.
  3. Install the engine cooling fan to the vehicle. Tighten all fasteners to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the drive belt on the pulleys. See DRIVE BELT . Install the fan shroud in the vehicle. Tighten all fasteners to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Refill the cooling system. See DRAINING & FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  4. If removed, install the rear A/C pipe to the compressor. Tighten compressor hose fittings to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY/EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in HVAC. Connect both the battery negative cables to the batteries and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
