Filler Tube: Removal

CAUTION: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open pipes and passages.
NOTE: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.
  1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  2. Drain the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK DRAINING  .
  3. Remove the fuel filler pipe retainers from the fuel filler pipe access panel. See Fig 1 .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle.
  5. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamps at the fuel tank and fuel fill tube. See Fig 2 .
  6. Remove the fuel filler hose.
  7. Remove the fuel filler pipe attaching screw from the under body. See Fig 3 .
  8. Remove the fuel filler pipe.
