Installation Procedure

  1. Position the battery (1) into the vehicle.
    2. Fig 2: Battery Hold Down Strap Fastener

  2. Install the battery hold down (2) to the battery and battery tray.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the battery hold down strap fastener (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  4. Position the positive battery cable terminal (2) to the battery.
  5. Move the terminal lever (1) into the latched position.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP5) .
