Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LY7)  or Drive Belt Replacement (LCS) .
  2. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .
  3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LY7) .

  5. Install the EN 46106  through the starter mounting hole. See Special Tools .
  6. Remove the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .

  8. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt.

  10. Install the J 38416-2  in the nose of the crankshaft. See Special Tools .
  11. Install the J 41816  in order to remove the crankshaft balancer.
  12. Tighten the center bolt of the J 41816  in order to pull the crankshaft balancer off of the crankshaft.
  13. Remove the J 41816  from the crankshaft balancer.
