Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pump to the vehicle through the right wheelhouse area.
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Power Steering Pump Bolts

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
    NOTE: Hand start both bolts before finalizing any torques.
  3. Install the power steering pump bolts (1) and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to the power steering pump.

    Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  7. Compress the power steering reservoir outlet hose clamp (1) and connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose (2) to the power steering pump.
  8. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  9. Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LY7) or Drive Belt Replacement (LCS) .
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
