Diagnostic Aids

DTC C0551 is set when the EBCM detects a mismatch between itself and the programmed BCM in the vehicle by monitoring the BCM class 2 message.

1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
2 Are any other DTCs present besides DTC C0551? Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle Go to Step 3 
3 Replace the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Control Module References .
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 4  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?		 Go to Step 2  System OK
