Removal Procedure

  1. If equipped with 2.4L (LAT), remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (2.2L (L61)) or Battery Tray Replacement (2.4L (LAT)) or Battery Tray Replacement (3.5L (L66)) .

  2. Disconnect the shift control cable (3) from the range select lever (4).
  3. Release the shift control cable retaining clip (2) and remove the cable from the shift control cable bracket (1).
  4. Remove the left and right console trim panels. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side and Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

  5. Remove the shift control cable from the automatic transmission shift control.
  6. Remove the shift control cable grommet at the cowl.
  7. Remove the shift control cable from the vehicle.
