Removal Procedure

Tools Required 

J 38358-A  Support Remover/Installer. See Special Tools and Equipment .

  1. Use the J 38358-A  in order to remove the low one-way clutch snap ring (2) from the transaxle case.

  2. Remove the low one-way clutch and the rear planetary carrier (1) from the rear planetary ring gear and the 1st- reverse brake.

  3. Remove the two thrust washers (1) from the rear planetary carrier (3).

  4. Remove the one-way clutch (1) from the rear planetary carrier (2).

  5. Remove the rear planetary carrier thrust bearing (2) and the race (3) from the rear planetary ring gear and intermediate shaft (1).
