2	Instal a scan tool. Turn On the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door key unlock parameter in the driver door module (DDM) inputs data list. Does the door key unlock parameter display INACTIVE?	Go to Step 3	Go to Step 7
3	With a scan tool, observe the door key unlock parameter in the driver door module (DDM) inputs data list. Insert and rotate a key to the unlock position in the driver's door key cylinder. Does the door key unlock parameter display ACTIVE as the key is rotated to the unlock position?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems	Go to Step 4
4	Inspect the driver's door key cylinder for mechanical malfunction (disconnected, binding or bent lock rod, obstructions, etc.). Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 15	Go to Step 5
5	Turn OFF the ignition. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the driver door latch door key switch harness connector signal circuit to the driver door latch door key switch harness connector ground circuit. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door key unlock parameter in the driver door module (DDM) inputs data list. Does the scan tool display ACTIVE?	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 6
6	Turn OFF the ignition. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the driver door latch door key switch harness connector signal circuit and a good ground. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door key unlock parameter in the driver door module (DDM) inputs data list. Does the scan tool display ACTIVE?	Go to Step 9	Go to Step 8
7	Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the driver front door latch door key switch circuit connector. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door key unlock parameter in the driver door module (DDM) inputs data list. Does the scan tool display INACTIVE?	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 10
8	Test the driver door latch door key switch signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 15	Go to Step 12
9	Test the driver door latch door key switch ground circuit for a short to voltage or an open circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 15	Go to Step 12
