Diagnostic Aids

If the DTC is only found in history, the fault may be intermittent. Refer toTesting for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

DTC B2425 or B2430 Diagnostic Test

1 Did you perform the Power Seat Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Attempt to operate the heated seat system in the back only and back and cushion heating modes.
Does the heated seat system operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the seat module connectors C3 and C4.
  3. Turn ON the ignition.
  4. Connect a test lamp from the seat cushion heater element control circuit terminal in the harness connector C4 to ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 4 
4 Connect a test lamp from the seat back heater element control circuit terminal in the harness connector C4 to ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 5 
5 Connect a test lamp from battery voltage to the seat cushion heater element control circuit terminal in the harness connector C4.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 9  Go to Step 6 
6 Connect a test lamp from battery voltage to the seat back heater element control circuit terminal in the harness connector C4.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 10  Go to Step 11 
7 Repair the seat cushion heater element voltage supply or ground circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 13  -
8 Repair the seat back heater element voltage supply or ground circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 13  -
9 Repair the seat cushion heater element voltage supply or ground circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 13  -
10 Repair the seat back heater element voltage supply or ground circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and toWiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 13  -
11 Inspect for poor connections at the seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 13  Go to Step 12 
12 Replace the seat module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 13  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the system within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
